She Dreams…

Card-2

I absolutely adore this card and am going to frame it and put it in my studio.  I purchased it two years ago when my mother and I were in Banff, Canada.  We stumbled into this quaint boutique, and when I saw this card, I felt like it was speaking directly to me.  Mermaids, motorcycles, a man who can dance — the only thing missing is a beautiful body of water.

Another dream I have is going to Asheville and surprising my mother on her 64th birthday.  Surprise Mom!!! Chucklebutt helped me find a reasonable airline ticket and I will see you around 10:30am on your birthday.  I miss my hometown terribly and can’t wait to get a reprieve from the heat.  Too bad Chuck can’t come with.  He has to work yet another weekend.  This will make the third weekend in a row.  I guess I should just be thankful he has a job.  It seems like every week they are laying folks off at the bank.  He keeps promising me our time will come when we can head north for a mini vacation, and I am holding him to it.

This weekend has been pretty quiet.  Every time I thought I was going to get motivated and do something, I realized that the temp was 115 and humans just aren’t really meant to do much of anything in that kind of weather.  We did go out to dinner and I had some yummy chicken piccata at the Cheesecake Factory.  It was enough for three meals and it tasted even better at breakfast time.  We also rented some pretty silly, scary movies and per usual, I watched them through clenched fingers.

For those of you that don’t know much about desert life, summer time is monsoon season.  Mind you it’s desert monsoon season not Vietnam monsoon season.  Every evening around 5pm, dark clouds roll in and we have crazy dust storms.  Occasionally we’ll have a hard rain, but usually it’s just a lot of scary lightening and wind.  Chuck has been pining to take some lightening shots, and I said that as long as his insurance policy is up to date, he could knock himself out.   This is what he captured.

For some reason, this reminds me of the movie Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury (it terrified me as a 13 year old, not so much as a 30 year old.)

This one reminds me of something from Tesla — the inventor not the band.  😀  Great job Chucklebutt!

After a while, I started to get antsy and actually asked him to come back inside — insurance policy or no insurance policy.  He drives me crazy with his antics, although he’s still as sweet as a peach.  When I woke up on Friday morning, look what I found waiting for me:

They look good enough to eat!

What I love about these roses is they smell as good as they look.  Our entire kitchen smells delicious.

Along with the beautiful flowers, he bought me my favorite iced cookies.  Ahhh, true love — flowers and cookies.  Thank you Baby!

Have a great week everyone!

I remember exactly where you bought the card. I love it, too. Can’t wait to see you! I hate that you have to take the red eye. It kicked my butt when I took it. You can nap until 5pm then it’s out to dinner with the ladies. Can’t wait! Can’t wait! CAn’t wait!!!!!!!!!!
