April in the Desert

April is a beautiful time to be in the desert.  We have had gorgeous weather (not yet 100 degrees) and all the wild flowers are in bloom.  Chucklebutt and I have been working on our yard and I am inspired by all the beauty around us.

I love this flower!  It’s a Persian Buttercup and I sure hope I don’t kill it.  I have a brown thumb.  Luckily I have Nurse Chucklebutt to administer triage once my plants start to look sickly.

Isn’t nature perfect?  Great shot Chuck!

I am such a sucker for a pretty teapot.  I found this one at Goodwill for a couple bucks and thought it would be nice outdoors.  It’s made in England and the outside is all hand painted.

This is a shot of my hanging baskets.  We have very agile, crafty rabbits.  The first year we moved into our house, I purchased about 200 dollars worth of plants for our flower beds.  The rabbits thought it was a buffet and I cried for days.  So, we have learned to be smarter than the bunnies.

The bougainvillea are in full bloom and they are getting so big and bright.  I think they might be my favorite.

One of my resident’s daughters gave me a whole slew of antique single trees.  They are very useful when wanting to hang plants outdoors.  I love the weathering on this one.

While we were working outdoors, guess who was pining away to join us?

Strawberries are finally coming into season.  Don’t they look like jewels?  Nothing beats fresh strawberries and cream.  I always feel like a princess when I eat them.  It’s a good thing Chuck met me — I introduced him to such a yummy (and fattening treat).  He introduced me to Quik Trip fountain drinks.  😀

She doesn’t look amused, does she?  Mind you I’m the one who should be irritated — who do you think you are sleeping in my tablecloths?!?

Oh forget it.  I can’t stay angry with a face like that.  😀
Happy Tuesday everyone!
